Welcome to the 21st Century
Many new and improved tools are available today for the detection and treatment of dental disease. Dr. Jim and his team have been in the front of the pack, researching what is safe and effective for use in their practice, always looking for those tools that will make your visit more comfortable, more beneficial, and more enjoyable.
A Cavity Detecting Laser
The use of fluorides has made teeth stronger and more resistant to decay. But now when decay starts in the small crevices in the biting surfaces of teeth, detection has become more challenging with the old dental pick and eye balls.
The KAVO DIAGNOdent® uses laser fluorescence to find those hidden cavities which may otherwise go undetected until they are much larger. Early detection means earlier more conservative treatment, which could mean less need for anesthetics- yeah!
Safest X-rays Around
Many dental offices are going digital. And why not, digital X-ray systems can reduce radiation by up to 90%. But did you know Dr. Jim was one of the first in the area to utilize this in 1998. Let Dr. Jim and his staff use their knowledge and experience with this "new" technology for you.
A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words
Have you ever had a doctor try to explain something technical that you can't see? It can be very frustrating. Take a look at your teeth on TV with an intraoral camera. It's so much easier to see and understand what's being stated. Then you and Dr. Jim can make the decisions together.
Drill-less Dentistry
How many people hate the sound of the drill? Well drill-less dentistry is available at Dr. Jim's. This technology is best suited for small cavities in biting surfaces of teeth, and can often be performed without anesthetic.
Coupled with early decay detection and good prevention, drill-less air abrasion could be all a new generation of dental patients would ever need.
It's like magic - "The Wand"
If that cavity is a little bigger and you do need to be "numbed", let Dr. Jim take the pain away with the Wand. This new computerized delivery system makes freezing your mouth easier than ever.
TV/Video glasses
Tired of counting the dots on the ceiling during your dental appointments? Feel like just tuning out? Try Dr. Jim's TV glasses and put your mind somewhere else. Tune into cable TV or bring a movie. Then relax while Dr. Jim perfects your smile.
